FITS AND STARTS

Easter pinks and blues

At this time last year, I think we'd just got back from Amsterdam and were still enjoying the holiday buzz. This year we didn't go anywhere. Which is supposed to mean more study time right? Not really, because there's more room for procrastination :p I told myself I'd hit the books as soon as Brunei Night was over, but I guess that didn't work out because after the whole shebang the exhaustion and accumulated lack of sleep kicked in. I wasted the first two weeks bumming around, catching up on my zzzzzzzzs and just bumming, generally. Now my everyday companion is a textbook.

The past week has been filled with minor mishaps. Last Wednesday I went to get my hair cut with Fauz. Got my fringe trimmed a little too short, AGAIN. I was quite upset with the turnout so I told Fauz I was going home straight away to fix it and that I'd meet her later. Unfortunately, even after I'd showered it was still looking kinda out of place. Luckily Fauz rang to say that she was off to meet some friends and that I didn't have to pick her up at the salon. And it's almost been a week since then, and thank goodness my fringe is growing along nicely.

Then on Thursday, I was chewing an Airhead when it attached itself to my artificial tooth and pulled the bit off. Not the whole tooth, just the mended up bit. I started yelling for Chun How, who was next door, at the top of my lungs. He was on the phone and hung up when he saw my horrified expression, but the minute I told him what happened he burst into fits of laughter. I called the dentist immediately only to be told that, "All our dentists are done for the day." Friday and Monday were off days as well, thanks to Easter. So I booked myself in for the very first slot on Tuesday, at 9.30 am. The receptionist was very nice though; she even gave me the Charing Cross Hospital emergency line. I have not ventured out the house much since then. I'm just waiting for tomorrowww.........

Yah, that's what it looks like. Please excuse the face.

And finally. A few days ago, I splashed a bit of water on to my laptop. JUST A LITTLE BIT. Like, REALLY meagre. Now the hyphen/underscore key isn't functioning. And the + key is a tad sticky. The = works fine, but when I use it with Shift, it takes a while before the + pops out. Sigh.

My luck had better change tomorrow. If anything goes wrong at the dentist's, I don't know what I'll do.
