FITS AND STARTS

This time around last year

In preparation for Christmas (it's never too early to get into the holiday mood), I have decided to set myself a number of resolutions. The aim is to start working on them now and reward myself with pretty shoes if I've achieved any of them.

Well I never saw it coming,

I resolve to forgive:
1) the person who has given me grief and made my life miserable
2) the person who has been dishonest with me
3) the person who has taken me for granted and made me feel small
4) the person who has cheated me of my loyalty and goodwill
5) the person who has stripped me of expectations from empty promises

I should have started running a long, long time ago

Goodbye shoes. There's no way I'm gonna have you for Christmas.

Lord have mercy on this willful creature for wanting to hold on to these feelings of malice and resentment just a while longer.

Now I'm picking up the pieces,
spending all of these years putting my heart back together.

  • I think that was a great personnel goal to achieve, but also too hard to succeed. I don't have much of experience in that stuff, but I understand why people can't forget and forgive, but the past will always haunt you if you don't let it go... thats my opinion, no matter what, it was a good list :)

  • don't think it's something we can do overnight. my pastor likens "feelings of malice n resentment" (in ur words) to stones n rocks in our hearts. And forgiveness is like throwing away these stones one by one. it's a gradual process n each time u remind urself to do it, u're throwing out one stone. one fine day, they will all be thrown out. =)
