FITS AND STARTS

You know you love me

*** UPDATE on my dream job! I've decided to add make-up artist to the list. Wuhahahaha. Although I really must add a disclaimer after that that reads something like >> Nude looks only. Cos I totally lack the creativity to play around with colour, but hey, one can dream!!!

If you're wondering why food taster is not on the list, it's because I don't want to get sick of food!

(bewildered looks all around)

Ok let me explain. I like duck rice, but if I were to work in Sunrise and smell ducks roasting over the spit 24/7 and try the tester editions constantly, I would get sick of it by the time the recipe is perfected! Comprende? No? Si.

As most of you know, my Jan/Feb exams are over hooray! BUT my March exams are just around the corner T_T . K lah this post is gonna be mostly picture-based cos I have nothing particularly interesting to rant about. Behold random pictures from my mobile~~

These pictures were taken on Victoria Embankment, just outside Blackfriars station. Your Honour will see the London Eye in the distance. That's how I speak in my advocacy classes. I walk down Victoria Embankment every now and then to go to my Inn to partake of dinner and wholesome conversation (apparently). The Inns (of Court) are kinda like Houses which barristers have to belong to (think Harry Potter and the four Hogwarts Houses). There are four - Lincoln's Inn, Gray's Inn, Middle Temple and Inner Temple. I'm in Inner Temple. I quite like its name. Doesn't it sound like a secret sect of some sort? Anyway, apart from the practical assessments on the BVC, we students are required to undertake 12 education and training sessions organised by our Inns before being called to the Bar. These sessions can come in the form of dinners (where you get to mingle with lawyers and judges of all sorts), lectures, or even weekends away. Btw they're not free ok, not even for members!!! Must pay one. Nothing in life is free.

I covertly snapped this after dinner at the Inner Temple. Dining is quite a formal activity. We have to wear long black gowns which look like graduation robes and everyone is seated at long tables. Before eating the Master Treasurer? will say grace in Latin and end with Amen. After dinner everyone is served with coffee or tea and chocolate. The pegasus is the logo of the Inner Temple. Actually I've not been told of an express rule disallowing the use of cameras, but the Bar is quite uppity and posing to take pictures will just look out of place. One day I must try to sneak in a shot of the sugar they serve us for our coffee/tea. They're like little brown crystal-like blobs. Very cute!

This is Suan and Wei Ning. Pic taken at Gold Mine in Bayswater. Over the course of my time in the UK, you must have heard me mention their names at least once! Suan was my housemate during my A-Levels, and Wei Ning was my Chem classmate. They're both from Penang. Wei Ning is very smart, Suan is smart. HA HA. Suan if you're reading this, I kid I kid.

My graduation cert! Sigh I thought final year was the time where I worked the hardest in my life, but the BVC has made me change my mind.

[l-r] Eugene, John, Sue, Adrian. Adrian is Eugene's brother, Sue is his fiancee and John is not his fiance. Sue and John are Malaysian. We had just finished dinner at this Thai restaurant that offers a buffet menu for Chinese people only. I know, soooo exclusive right?? I guess it's quite worth it considering the buffet was only 13 quid, but then the place is in Edgware and it costs 7 pounds to go there and back! Luckily Adrian paid for our dinner heeheehee.

1st pic [l-r]: Shereen, Emmy, Lydia, Melissa.
2nd pic [l-r]: Sharon, Xian, Jyy Mei, Terence.

At the start of the year, I asked God for at least one good friend on the course. After the nightmare stemming from my being held back a year for my undergrad degree, I didn't want to have to go through the whole go-to-class-come-back-immediately routine again because I didn't know anyone there. But God didn't just give me one, he gave me many beautiful individuals whose acquaintances I am truly grateful for. These are some of the girls I hang out with in school, sans Terence cos he's Jyy Mei's boyfriend and he studies in Reading but I do see him every now and then. The ang mohs in UCL were quite snotty, but the ones I've met on the course are really nice. Jyy Mei took some pictures of my classmates the other day (cos we're in the same tutorial group) but she hasn't put them up on Facebook yet. Hmmm I must go ask her...

See, while y'all were shopping and carolling your Xmas hols away, JM, Sharon and I were in Starbucks everyday STUDYING!

And finally...

HAHAHHAHA. I love this picture!!! I think it is absolutely retarded.

xoxo
