Meanderings

It is ironic that a disproportionately large percentage of my closest kaki happens to be the friends I made in CBN. When my mum wanted to move me out of Sri Cempaka, I threw a brat fuss, locked myself in the bathroom and refused to speak to my parents. I can reminisce now and laugh at my childishness, because I am truly grateful to have met these girls. Some people maintain a cynical, somewhat aloof view on friendships, dismissing them as follies of youth and that "at the end of the day, the ones who will remain by your side are your family members." But I have so much faith and trust in the ones whom I refer to above, and I don't think I have ever been let down by them.

The sanctity of these friendships did not hit me until I left my CBN shelter, and I have had the "privilege" to get to know some bastards dubious characters over the past few years. I think I make acquaintances without being effectively judgmental, but that only makes any subsequent hurt and disappointment so much more acute when the selfishness and inconsideration of my so-called friends become apparent. But then again, perhaps I am too liberal with my use of the word friend...

Ok emoness off. Wahh! 9 months more and I'll have a degree to my name. My office slate will read

Singapore vacation

I ate out every day ok!!!!!!! Don't worry my fellow Malaysians I am still loyal to Malaysian food! Unfortunately, I must say that Pow Sing chicken rice in Serangoon Gardens is the nicest chicken rice I have ever tasted. Aiyo. I have one week to bergym and lose this excess weight before my flight back to UK. Some more winter will be coming in about 2 months time. Sure put on weight again. Die laaaaa. On top of it all, I cannot sleep. Tried calling Eugene but I assume he's sleeping already cos he's not picking up. Sheesh. I was counting on him to be awake at this ungodly hour of 3 am cos he's usually reading/surfing the Net/watching tv/doing other miscellaneous activities at this time.

I have finally bought AND read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I was sooooo excited to get to the end that I couldn't help but peek and read the last two chapters while halfway through the book. I don't like surprises alright! And knowing that Harry was happily alive and fertile, the tension on my heart eased up and I leisurely continued reading from where I left off. I still don't get why Dumbledore beat Grindelwald though, if Grindelwald possessed the Elder Wand. Ok, so Dumbledore's more skillful, but the Elder Wand is not supposed to yield to any other wand in a duel right? So WHY WHY WHY did Dumbledore end up the victor?!?! I cannot get the answer!!!!!!! Which makes me wonder if there will be an 8th book devoted to a detailed relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, and any other gaps in the HP series although I can't think of them now.........

I have stopped reading the newspapers for... about a month now? I know I'm supposed to be keeping up with the current affairs of my country but the newspaper is just so BORING. I hate the way the articles are written - it's as if everyone at the Star attended the same School Of Malaysian Newspaper Lexicon. Maybe that's why I like reading the Malay Mail sometimes. There's something juicy and crude about the tabloids that always grabs your attention.

Yawn. My lids are finally getting droopy. While I take my leave I shall leave you with a newly 10-kg lighter Eugene :D Sigh. If only I had been strict with my gym plan.
