What could be worse than this

1) I am sick - flu, sore throat, runny nose, and all the signs that come with winter
2) It's that time of the month - and I shouldn't have to elaborate on the cramps
3) There are men working in my flat all week, repainting the ceilings/walls and fixing the things that need to be fixed. The flat's now jumbled up cos we've had to move things around so that the men can access their 'worksite' hassle-free. And my usually tidy room is IN A MESS!
4) There is dust flying everywhere and it is not helping my flu

I feel like I am living in a junkyard. My home is not feeling very sanctuary-like at the moment. I can't sleep, study or shower properly and I don't even have the mood to go out cos everything is just all over the place.

MY ROOM BEFORE

AFTER
WARNING: Disturbing images ahead

Mold growing on my ledge

Andrea eating chicken and watching D. Gray Man on my couch

I am kinda annoyed that all this has to happen. It started when our washing machine leaked (YES I CAN'T EVEN WASH MY CLOTHES!!!). There was also a wiring problem with Andrea's room light, and mold on Mei's and my bedroom window ledges. So we called the landlord to have a look around and he ended up leaving with a LONGER list of improvements that needed to be done aside from the ones expected above. Eg. Repaint Andrea's room ceiling, the bathroom, toilet and kitchen, maybe put in a new bathtub, fix the toilet door and other miscellaneous things like a chair, another door, etc. I can't even escape from it all because someone needs to be in the flat as much as possible to supervise the work going on. And with Mei and Andrea being medics who have classes from 9-5 everyday, I'm the only one who can do it. Please God, give me strength to get through this week.

Save the Malaysian judiciary

Lawyers (or judges or anyone to do with the legal system) are a corrupt, twisted liars.

Ish. People, you watch too much movies. Defending the guilty and no recourse for the innocent? That only sums up so little of the truth. Yet the recent scandal pertaining to the Malaysian judiciary does nothing for this stereotyping. If you don't know the story yet, read it here.

If you are on Facebook, join the Save the Malaysian judiciary group for updates, and to express your thoughts and feelings on the issue.

If you frequent Internet user, why not spend 5 minutes of your time here to find out how you can sign the petition to the YDP Agung asking for the establishment of a Royal Commission to look into the matter, and if necessary, to require the sacking of the present Chief Justice of Malaysia. MPs and commoners alike have signed it. I have signed it. Will you do the same to prevent any potential government cover-ups?

If there are any other petitions you know about, like Raja Petra Kamaruddin's, sign it too! Sign as many as possible. We need to put pressure on the government for answers.

Enough is enough la. WE NEED A NEW GOVERNMENT!

Down with phantom voters. Down with corruption. Down with bumiputra rights. Down with BN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hnnngggnnnhhh

I am so bored I could cry! I feel stifled in London. Like constipated kind of feeling (hence the hnnngggnnhhh above). I can't do all the things I wanna do, and I'm not surrounded by all the ppl I wanna be surrounded by. Cooking everyday is now becoming a chore. I need a study buddy, a gym buddy, an everything buddy. I need someone to be around me 24/7. I need my mommy!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately Eugene doesn't exactly fit the bill because he likes hanging out with his guy friends too much. And as much as some of them are nice people, we don't exactly have much in common. And I would just be bored hanging out with a bunch of guys. Sigh. I dunno why I'm feeling so lost lately. Actually, I think it's because I've been studying consistently everyday since school started and I am getting sick of it. Muahahahahha. Yes that must be it. Ok hopefully this feeling will go away so I can get back to studying. ARGHHH I WANT TO DRIVE MY CAR.

Celebrating the humble flat

I love shoes. No, correction. I love FLATS. Fashion mags will talk about how you should invest in a pair of killer heels. They scream instant sex appeal, leggier pins and give you instant height advantage over your enemy. And then they conveniently forget the part where high heels are the last things you wanna be seen in when posing walking around for longer than half an hour. And that, my friends, is why flats are a much better investment. Flat ballet shoes, flat walking shoes, flat sandals, flat boots, flat espadrilles, flat trainers, flat EVERYTHING!!!! (NB. flat boobs not included.) Forget the apples; a pair of flatties everyday keeps the doctor miles away. Besides, any heel 3 inches or higher makes me look like a stumpy stump of a tree. I think only short people will get that. Even so, I am what I am (short), and flats make me look real. Yup, I can definitely identify with flats.

Look at these pretties and tell me you're not convinced.

Ugly, impractical and massively expensive

VS.

Super comfy, has that element of laidback cool, and will not break your piggy bank!

My personal favourite - somebody plissss buy for me? :(

You're probably wondering why I'm so fired up about flats all of a sudden. 'Tis the mid season sale in London and I am going MAD over the variety of discounted flats on the high street. I can't concentrate on my work cos I keep thinking of flat shoes! If only I had all the money in the world and I could buy up every beautiful pair of flats with a *swipe* of my credit card. Mmm. Happy happy happy I would be. (I can imagine MF going, "Dream la dream.")
